We have a one-of-a-kind fashion designer strutting into Dallas this week! The one & only Lie Sangbong is one of Korea’s most prominent fashion designers. Lie will take the runway this Wednesday, Oct. 17th at The Crow Museum, 2010 Flora St, Dallas, TX 75201, showcasing a line of Korean clothing, for The Crow Collection. A master craftsman & artist who is recognized internationally for his architectural collections that celebrate & enhance the beauty of bodies.
Lie Sangbong began his career journey creating couture garments for private clients at his atelier in Seoul. This fashion icon founded his eponymous brand, LIE SANGBONG, in 1985 & to this day continues to blend traditional influences & innovative techniques. “The Reincarnation” was one of his first ready-to-wear collections that was presented in 1993 during the Seoul Fashion Week, and in 1999 he received a huge honor with the ‘Designer of the Year’ Award from the mayor of Seoul.
With the ambition of wanting to expand the brand’s business to Europe, Lie began to immerse himself in Paris Fashion Week, back in 2002. From there, his collections continued to grow, and after 12 years of showing in Paris, the collection made its way to New York Fashion Week. The grand debut at the Fashion Week was celebrated with the Fall-Winter 2014 collection.
Lie has received praise & has been featured in hot publications including; Vogue, Vanity Fair, W, The New York Times, Le Figaro, The Telegraph, Elle & Harper’s Bazaar. An influential artistic & cultural figure in Korea, he currently acts as the president of CFDK (Council of Fashion Designers of KOREA) and a cultural Ambassador for the City of Seoul.
The collection is exclusively sold through Betty Reiter in Dallas, 4030 Villanova at Preston Center, so you can catch yourself wearing these hot clothing items. The Betty Reiter store will be hosting a trunk show with Lie Sangbond's collection on Thursday & Friday this week from 10am-5pm both days.
