Short or tall, petite or thick, no matter your body size, the ESTEEM: Fashion Show highlights all different body types. Body positivity is something that we’re big supporters of here at DFW Style Daily. It’s a movement that is encouraged for all young people and adults because everybody comes with a uniquely human story. The ESTEEM show is dedicated to celebrating positive body image, as well as self-esteem.
The ESTEEM: Fashion Show is a non-profit that is hosted by The Elisa Project, which focuses on serving adolescents, women, and men who are having struggles with eating disorders. Their mission is to teach them about the power of having a positive body image & the importance of self-esteem. Hosted at TOOTSIES, their 9th Annual ESTEEM Fashion Show will take place on Sept. 6. Mix and mingle over hors d’oeurves and cocktails and sign up to win a fabulous raffle prize.

Founder & show coordinator Rhonda Sargent Chambers and
The Elisa Project are bringing light and awareness to eating disorders by helping individuals embrace a balanced lifestyle through self-acceptance. Proceeds from this event will go towards The Elsa Project, an organization “dedicated to fighting disorders through education, support, and advocacy”, as well as bringing community awareness to these eating disorders as a whole.
Rhonda tells us the significance of this project, “The Elisa Project is one of a kind, I became involved in 2001 when I had attended a performance celebrating the life of Elisa McCall. Her diary that she left with us is riveting, but she tells all of us to support one another. Sharing her story was her legacy. It takes a village to create this event”. The local philanthropist and fashion maven has her sights set on preventing the stereotyping of those with eating disorders.
The ESTEEM Fashion Show will take place at TOOTSIES from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. next Thursday, Sept. 6. Purchase event tickets here online and support a wonderful cause.
