Fashion Group International of Dallas presents a Night of Stars Gala today, November 10 at Fair Park in the Hall of State marking FGI’s 68th anniversary. The local star-studded affair will present a number of Dallas individuals and businesses with Career Achievement and Lifetime Achievement Awards for their contribution to fashion and related industries.
This year’s awards will honor the following Dallasites:
Lifetime Achievement Award: Angela Missoni
Angela Missoni is being honored for her brave and courageous work in fashion. She serves as creative director of the women’s collection as well as the responsibility of the designs.
Arts Patrons of the Year : Joyce Goss & Kenny Goss
Kenny Goss is an entrepreneur and businessman located in Dallas. He is well known for creating a co-creator of The Goss-Michael Foundation. The Foundation is internationally known for implementing contemporary and modern British art. He’s passionate about human rights, issues including addiction, gender issues, as well as women and children’s rights make him a great candidate for this award.
Career Achievement in Business: Nasiba Adilova
Nasina Adilova served as co-founder of The Tot and she was the Director of Business Her unique eye for innovative companies has allowed her to invest in a number of the biggest names in the fashion industry. Her accomplishments and expertise have earned her recognition in Vogue, ELLE, Harper’s BAZAAR, Business of Fashion, Glossy, Dallas Morning News, and more.
Career Achievement in Education: Marilyn Sullivan
Marilyn Sullivan serves as a Fashion Marketing Program Coordinator in the Business, Design, and Public Service Division of El Centro College. In 2005 the Fashion Marketing Program and Marilyn were moved to El Centro College to collaborate with the long-standing Fashion Design Program.
Career Achievement in Design: Michael Aram
Aram took a life changing trip to India where he discovered rich metalworking traditions. Aram used his trip to his creative energies towards craft based design, setting up a home and workshop in New Delhi. His homemade work shows he deserves career achievement in Design.
The night will seek to benefit the FGI of Dallas Scholarship Foundation, which provides scholarships to fashion students in North Texas. Last year, FGI of Dallas donated more than $200,000 in cash scholarships and prizes to college students during the annual FGI Scholarship Competition held each spring at the Dallas Market Center.
