Fashion X is celebrating its 4th year in Dallas with their upcoming show, Fashion X Dallas “Noir.” This one-night-only event on September 30th will feature 15 runway designers and pop-up shops from the best emerging jewelry and accessories designers benefiting the Every Girl Deserves Foundation and The Fashion Group Foundation. At “NOIR” the guests and decor will be donned in all black while the designers will provide a pop of color with their designs.
“Fashion X is a company inspired by emerging and direct-to-consumer fashion brands and designers,” said Matt Swinney, producer of Fashion X. “It’s our goal to give incredibly talented designers the opportunity to show on world-class runways in front of huge audiences that are highly engaged and ready to buy their designs.” Currently, Fashion X runs shows in Austin, Dallas, and Houston. Since Fashion X treats each of the cities they work in as individuals they noticed Dallas’ tendency to lean toward a social interaction. “After much feedback from our Dallas audience, we felt doing a show that allowed for a more interactive runway experience seemed a better fit. And if it’s going to be more party, less formal runway show, then we may as well theme it,” Swinney said.
This year’s Fashion X event benefits two foundations; the Every Giyear’sserves Foundation
and The Fashion Group Foundation
. Every Girl Deserves Foundation
supports talented and innovative designers whose talents have earned an invitation to showcase at major events like New York Fashion
Week. Every Girl Deserves helps to provide materials, travel, entry fees, and more. In addition, the charity raises awareness and funding for nonprofit organizations that fight for freedom of women around the world. The Fashion Group Foundation
is an organization dedicated to educational programs for fashion and has awarded over 1.6 million dollars in scholarships to young fashion
designers and merchandising students. This group strives to provide its members the opportunity to be most efficient in their careers and educate on the influence of fashion in the marketplace.
Fashion X plans to make a bold and unforgettable show this year. “Our goal is to have even the fiercest fashion critic do a double take at a look she loves and then have to go do research on the designer to figure out where they came from,” said Swinney.
The designers for this years show come from all over the country with a few from the DFW area. “Fashion X Dallas
tends to focus on designers that aren’t as well known,” said Swinney. Featured designers include Vanessa Posner of VENDALS
, Brittany Nicole, Huron Collection: House of Cynthia, Project Runway alumni Korto Momolu and Amanda Valentine and many more.
