Calling all fashion and beauty lovers! The first-annual StyleCon is hitting Dallas this Saturday, Sept. 23. An army of young fashion and beauty obsessees will descend upon Fashion Industry Gallery (f.i.g.) at 9 a.m. as the Cali-based event kicks off. After three successful years in Orange County, the one-stop-shop for all of our favorite things is now coming to the Big D. Read on for the scoop from co-hosts Tiffany Hendra from Bravo TV and YouTube sensation Jeanine Amapola!
Themed the “Beauty of Empowerment,” the event will give attendees a chance to hear from expert panelists on its StyleStage on topics such as relationships, fashion, beauty and entrepreneurship. Co-hosted by Hendra and Amapola, StyleCon will is also endorsed by LoweCo by Catherine Lowe of “The Bachelor.”
DFW Style Daily: What can we expect at StyleCon?
Hendra: Attendees can expect to be inspired, empowered and leave with fresh ideas to take into their business, blogs and wardrobe taking their level of beauty + style influence to the next level,” said Hendra. “StyleCon will be the place to be in DFW drawing in like-minded women like a vortex of positivity, girl power and tons of fun.
What does this year’s theme “Beauty of Empowerment” mean to you?
Amapola: “It’s something very dear to me. I want girls to be able to be strong, independent, and love themselves. Basically become their best selves! Every girl has it deep within her, it’s just about finding it and believing in it. I am honored to be a part of StyleCon Dallas for that reason.”
Describe your personal style.
Hendra: “My style is definitely mood driven and multifaceted. At the core, I am boho chic with a ’70s vibe mixture of Bianca Jagger, Kate Moss, Diane von Furstenberg and J.Lo.”
Celebrity style crush?
Amapola: “Shay Mitchell! I have always loved her outfits since she was on ‘Pretty Little Liars.'”
Hendra: “Gwen Stefani, Kate Moss, J.Lo, Victoria Beckham. They all know how to highlight their assets and personality through their style plus they are sexy + edgy, but classy at the same time.”
What style item embodies empowerment to you?
Amapola: “I think a good, little, black dress. Perhaps one that hugs you a little bit more than usual. If you can confidently rock that dress and walk out of the house knowing you are one hot mama, I encourage you to! Even if you aren’t fully confident, do it anyway! Step out of your comfort zone and rock that LBD!”
Expect panels and products to-boot in the event’s StyleShops area and appearances by Lowe herself, Emmy-nominated TV personality known for her work on “Good Morning Texas” Amy Vanderoef and YouTube celebrity Raven Elyse. Relationship guru Dr. Melanie Mills, local cosmetic industry icon Susan Posnick, Vintage Martini owner Ken Weber and Dallas’ “fashionprenuer” Leah Frazier will also be in attendance.
