We know it can be challenging to be stylish on rainy days. This is especially true for Texas since the rain doesn’t also always mean it will necessarily be cooler. We’re here to help you endure today’s gray skies while still looking fabulous.

The key to dressing for drizzle is to not to let it get you down. You can still take risks, be practical and of course, have fun – rain or shine! But, we’ve compiled a few rules of thumb to help make picking your rainy day look that much easier.
Rainy Day Outfit 1

Layers Are Key

Layers are a must! But, adding layers can sometimes get a little tricky (or should we say sticky?), as far as staying comfortable in the Texas humidity. We suggest something thin and versatile underneath your coat or jacket. A nice sleeveless knit is a perfect choice – you won’t get too warm or cold! Check out this easy to layer Revolve turtleneck!

BISHOP by Mackage is a hip length, sleek leather jacket for men. Straight fit and asymmetrical zipper front opening. Rib varsity at collar and hem. Zip sleeve vents with gussets and zipper breast pockets. Nickel hardware. Available in black and navy.

Add A Pop Of Color

The easiest way to combat those clouds is with some color! Now, it doesn’t have to be anything too crazy, but we just a piece that is on the warmer side, as far as hues go. Take this fab baby pink trench coat, for example! Can you say swoon?!

Stripe It Up

Nothing is worse than feeling the bottom of your wet pants after you’ve come in from the rain. That’s just one reason we are definite fans of the cropped pant. And if you pick a longer coat, like the one we shared, it’s never a bad idea to give the illusion of longer limbs. What better way to do that, than some classic vertical stripes? We are diggin’ this black and white pair from Rag & Bone!

Splash-Proof Shoes

Closed-toed shoes are ideal for wetter days, but it’s definitely important to wear some kicks that won’t suffer from a little splash. Keep your suede and velvet pretties stowed away this rainy season – and go for something a little more pragmatic, like these awesome metallic booties, instead!

Don’t Overthink Your Hair

While there are a lot of great products out there for combating frizz and helping your look stay intact, we are also big fans of the top-knot. Don’t overthink it, and throw that hair up in a fabulous messy bun, or maybe even a loose braid or the bubble ponytail pictured above. It’s a great way to draw the attention towards your outfit and make you look effortlessly chic.

No matter the precipitation, you don’t have to let a lack of sun dampen your look! Keep these suggestions in mind today and the next time a rainy day hits Dallas. Your style is sure to bloom!
