We’re always looking to give a shout out to fabulous events that combine fashion with a charitable cause. Next up, we can’t wait to check out the Legacy of Love Benefit & Fashion Show tomorrow!

Hosted by the Women’s Auxiliary to Children’s Medical Center Plano and Mercedes-Benz of Plano, this event is all about supporting the not-for-profit Children’s Health. Children’s Health is the eighth-largest pediatric health care provider in the country, located right in our backyard. They’re committed to making life better for children, and we’re committed to all philanthropic fashion in DFW.

2017 event chair Joa Muns has a personal connection with Children’s Heath herself.

“Over 25 years ago I had my first experience with Children’s Health,” Joa told us. “It was such a difficult time, yet the compassion, capability and care offered to my family ignited a lasting passion of for the involvement in support of pediatric health care. My husband, John, and I personally experienced and still remember the quality care given to our daughter. We had an opportunity to witness the amazing work the Children’s Health provides for families across North Texas.”

Legacy of Love has since become a staple annual affair for Collin County as they celebrate their fifth year. In honor of the milestone, five women of vision will be formally recognized for their devotion to helping improve the health of children in Collin County: Sandy Brennan, Joyce Houlihan, Sue de Mille-Minyard, Dr. Betty Muns and Senator Florence Shapiro.

Fellow Dallasite and fashion blogger Courtney Kerr will serve as the emcee. On the cutting edge of fashion, she’s sure to bring lots of exciting energy to the show!

As far as the fashion, we can’t wait to see all the spring and summer looks hand-picked by the amazing team at TOOTSIES! Additionally, the show will feature styles from Circa2000 Menswear and Animal Crackers.

“I believe the highlight of the show is seeing patient models,” Joa said. “To be honest, that is why we are all here. It is for the children.”

Will we see you at Mercedez-Benz of Plano tomorrow at 5:30 p.m.? Snag your tickets here.
