At DFW Style Daily, we love watching gals follow their dreams. Blogger and entrepreneur Hollie Youngblood is doing just that and looking chic in the process. After launching her blog Fashions of Fancy in 2015, Holly started making moves into the fashion and beauty industries — ultimately launching her online beauty brand Glamsicle last October and starting to sell her covetable outfits through an online boutique. The colorful beauty collection features vegan, paraben and gluten-free liquid lipsticks, shadows, bronzers and blush. A native Texan, the beautiful beauty guru earned her MBA in Accounting from University of Texas at Tyler. She worked in public/corporate accounting for nearly eight years until she decided to follow her true passions: fashion and beauty. Leaving the cubicle behind, Hollie never looked back. We sat down with the budding entrepreneur to hear about what’s next and lessons she’s learned along the way.

DFW Style Daily: Why did you leave your career behind to follow your dream?
“Fashion and beauty have been a big part of my life since I was a little girl. I have always helped friends go shopping and do their makeup for events. I finally had that (ah ha!) moment that I could really ‘work’ doing what I love and now I love what I do and making ladies feel beautiful!”

What do you love most about being a girl boss?

“I love the fact I can wake up every day knowing that I am in charge of my life, and the confidence and determination that comes with that!”

Describe your style in five words.

“Unique, fun, classic, edgy and bold.”

How did you choose the palette for your beauty collection?

“I selected the Glamsicle color palette by starting with myself. I feel like in order to sell any of my products to someone, I have to be 100% in love with them myself. The colors I like change day by day — there are nudes for the day to day look and bold shades to turn heads!”

Who is your fashion spirit animal?

“Lady Gaga! I love how many different styles she has and that she can pull off each and every one of them as well if not better than the last. She’s edgy and outrageous one day and sophisticated chic the next. Her style is perfection.”

What goals do you have in mind for your businesses?

“My daily goal is to continue growing my blog, boutique and cosmetic lines to reach women across the world. Whether it’s a look that I linked of myself on my blog, an outfit from my boutique or a bold Glamsicle lip color that makes them feel like they can rule the world, I want to provide something to make them feel beautiful. I’m  currently working to be more size inclusive in my boutique too.”

“I chose this shade because adding a red lip to any outfit can give anyone the confidence to conquer the world,” she said.
