Local kids apparel line CHOOZE is popping up right in a brand new location this fall! Starting on this Friday, Nov. 11 at Preston Royal Village East, the quirky pop-up shop has been showcasing colorful fall and holiday picks from the brand’s new collections in honor of its fifth birthday. Chock full of effortlessly mixed prints, metallics and bright colors, CHOOZE has something for every little one, whether it’s apparel, footwear or backpacks.
Dedicated to inspiring kids to embrace their inner confident creative, the too-cute brand also prides itself on using vegan materials. The line’s poly/spandex fabrics enable kids to play, experiment and get creative.
Launched in 2011, CHOOZE was inspired by the couple’s daughter and her passion for mixing and matching her outfits. What started as a collection of mismatched shoes soon grew into a lifestyle brand. We picked the brain of CHOOZE co-founder Sharon Blumberg, read on for our interview!
DFW Style Daily: Tell us about your pop-up location!
“The CHOOZE Pop-Up shop features our entire collection of creatively-coordinated footwear, apparel & accessories all in one colorful and fun location. The shop gives us an opportunity to connect with our customers and share the happiness of the CHOOZE story in person.”
How does CHOOZE teach children to care for the environment?
“Our entire brand mission is to inspire kids with creativity, confidence and their power to make an impact even at a young age. Our goal is to help children reach their potential through self-expression and through our socially conscious business model. At the end of each year, we invest profits in programs that provide support, training, education and funds for women in poverty.”
What are your favorite CHOOZE items for fall?
“Choosing a favorite CHOOZE item would be like choosing a favorite child! I love our Fringe boots for cool weather days because they are lined with the most comfortable, softest faux fur. So many choices make it so much fun to CHOOZE!”
Tell us more about why you use reusable boxes as a creative way to package CHOOZE products.
“Our boxes have always been made with recycled cardboard and are reusable for any purpose that a child can dream of. They have a coloring outline for kids to decorate and use their own creativity. It’s just one more way for kids to get creative.”
What inspired you to encourage kids to mix prints?
“As a former Interior Designer focused on children’s rooms, I have always loved designing for kids. From a very young age, my only daughter had an innate desire to express herself through unique wardrobe choices. As soon as she was old enough to walk, she would grab two different shoes and go about her day. She did it without the fear of failure or judgment and she was so happy because of it. In time I realized that the freedom to express ourselves is key to unleashing our potential.”
With so many holiday gift ideas for babies, kids and women, CHOOZE is a must-see this season. Through this Saturday, Nov. 20, the CHOOZE Pop-Up will be kicking off the weekend with a fifth birthday party celebration. 10% of sales will be donated to The Birthday Party Project, a local organization that throws birthday parties for homeless children.” For more information on CHOOZE and store hours, visit www.mychooze.com.
