“Fashion is not about utility. An accessory is merely a piece of iconography used to express individual identity.”
It’s been 10 years since “The Devil Wears Prada” came out – can you believe it?! Released as a page-turning comedy-drama novel in 2003, it soon became a best seller. If you haven’t read the book, you’ve definitely seen the iconic fashion film, starring Meryl Streep (Miranda Priestly) as a tyrannical editor of the glossy magazine, Anne Hathaway (Andy) as her fresh-out-of-college assistant and Emily Blunt (Emily), her fashion-savvy and co-assistant. An inside look into the cut-throat world of high fashion on film, “The Devil Wears Prada” is on every fashion gal’s favorite movie list. At DFW Style Daily, we believe the world of fashion doesn’t have to entail female versus female catfights and runway dramas, but nevertheless, we love the humorous, sharp take director David Frankel took in the novel’s film adaptation.
