New York Fashion Week graced us with the hottest upcoming trends fashion lovers wouldn’t be caught dead without.  Obviously, accessories complete any outfit, from patterned fur coats to reinvented ’80s touches. You can never forget the shoes! Nothing spoke louder than the trendsetting NYFW boots on the runway.

We’ve curated a must-have list of this year’s boots straight from the runway that’s perfect for any occasion from simple, stay-ins to after-hour events this season.

Ankle Boots

All sizes hit the spotlight from a fitted look to a more loose, over-sized trend. Minor details like string bows, slight ruffles, or tassels can add a bold touch to simple styles. Follow the sock-over-boot trend like Fendi for a refreshing look. Or, make a statement with a prominent texturized velvet, leather or faux crocodile-skin bootie with cutouts. For the boldest of them all, Hood By Air’s conjoined boot is your lottery ticket to turning heads.

Thigh-High Boots

The thigh-high boot is the ultimate staple item that can transition from season to season. Keep it as simple as Balmain’s neutral velvet boot or take a trip to the wild side with Balenciaga’s neon spandex thigh-highs. The Yeezy collection also featured the big ’90s trend of transparent footwear coming back to the scene with his exclusive clear thigh-highs and chunky heels. Let’s just say, heels are in.

Platform Boots

Making it’s break back to the runway, these vintage items took over the soles of models from Alexander McQueen to Gucci. Details were a major trend amongst platforms this season. If you’re not as daring, try strappy details, intricate laces or color-blocking details. For the more “out-there” look, aim for studs, leather patches and buckles. If there’s one thing the runway proved, you can never have too much height (just peep Marc Jacob’s collection above).

Slouchy Wedges

These shoes put a modern twist on the vintage ’90s baggy trend. Adding embellishments give it a flare without compromising its sophistication. Try a neutral toned, velvet crush texture with thin strings wrapping around for a simple yet trendy look. Or, aim for a wedged heel, chunky band, and metallic texture like Rick Owens’ choice. It may seem like an extremely bold boot, but what’s fashion if it’s not making a statement?
