These Texas gals have a knack for finding the perfect denim pieces and handmade silk threads. Raised in Allen, Texas, Lola and Taylor Rogers adopted their serious love for vintage after growing up with a mother who was always re-working vintage furniture to make it her own. Their childhood was basically a huge scavenger hunt for the best vintage clothing, furniture, and jewelry, urging the girls to grow up and open a shop of their own someday. Inspired to learn the inner-workings of the fashion world, Lola set off to L.A. to take classes at FIDM Fashion Institute, spending after school hours working in retail and accessory design, development and sourcing.
Fast forward to 2015, when the vintage-obsessed duo decided to follow their dreams and develop their own clothing line, sold alongside some of the most awesome vintage pieces the sisters had collected over the years from Texas to California. Just one week ago, now Dallas-based Taylor and Lola announced that they had launched their first capsule collection and online store, Blue Jean Baby, for the laid-back all-American gal who is inspired by the culture, art and music around her. Blue Jean baby is a fusion of exactly that: perfect vintage Levi’s and subtly sexy silk underpinnings, slip dresses, white-on-white suiting and more. Inspired by cowboys rocking vintage bandanas wearing oodles of turquoise and silver and the delicacy of vintage clothing, their line is the perfect mix for the Southern minimalist.

DFW Style Daily: What do you love most about denim?
“We love the individualism aspect of denim; how you can make it your own. Denim is a staple in just about everyone’s wardrobe, but it can be worn so many different ways. Once you find that perfect pair of jeans you can wear them over and over and that they become even better with wear.”
Where do you see your customer wearing your collection?
“The amazing thing about our collection is that it’s made up of staple pieces. We wanted to launch with a line of simple, high-quality designs in a neutral color palette that you’ll be able to wear forever.”
Where do you find your vintage pieces?
“Scoring that one incredibly special piece after hours of searching are what we live for! It’s the time and effort it takes that makes vintage hunting so addicting. We look all over for our pieces – we pick up vintage during travels, road trips, flea markets, trade shows, etc.”
What do you love most about a simple white crepe or silk piece? Why is it versatile?
“Silk is our absolute favorite fabric because it instantly elevates any garment. It’s buttery, soft and sexy but still cozy. We love the idea of wearable lingerie – pieces made of silks and laces that are simple and easy to wear.”
Do you think the rocker tee will ever go out of style?
“Harley Davidson and rock tees are just cool. They’ll never go out of style because they’re effortless and fashionable without even trying. Waking up late with messy hair and throwing on a grungy old tee and Levi’s is foolproof. It just works.”
Stay tuned for new developments on Blue Jean Baby’s Dallas dream: a brick and mortar store right here in Dallas-Fort Worth! In the meantime, follow them on Facebook and Instagram for swoon-worthy photos and brand new pieces.
