Dress Like Chanel: The Scream Queens Guide

Aside from the infamous snarky and witty remarks of Chanel (Emma Roberts), the trendy, elaborate outfits of the girls from KKT are to die for — pun intended. Most pieces make for great holiday outfits, but if you channel your inner Chanel, they’re perfect as everyday attire. From the sequined skirts to the fur coats, each episode guarantees a chic look that seems to get more fierce over time, and Season 2’s trailer is no exception! No one (and we mean no one) nails color coordination like the Scream Queens divas.

We’ve rounded up our fav stylish pieces for all you fans and Chanel wannabes out there, whether you’re looking for a night-out-on-the-town or casual day look. Let us know what your favorite piece is via social media!

Earmuffs – It may seem like an odd fashion statement, but have you seen Chanel No. 3 rocking it with just about every outfit? Dress them up by choosing earmuffs with embellishments on the sides, then add a slip dress, fur coat, and cut-out booties. Or, dress it down with a crop top, high-waisted skater skirt, knee-high sheer socks, and flats.

Feather Skirt – Be a fashion leader like Chanel with this fluffy piece, but be careful not to over-do it as the feather details should act as the main focal point of the outfit. Pair your new feathered friend with a fitted, off-shoulder crop top, a rhinestone chocker, and strap-up heels for a night-out look. Or, add a matching bodysuit tank, high waisted jeans, and heels for a more casual take on the feather trend.

Fur Coat – One of the most elaborate pieces repeatedly worn on the show by all Chanels! If you’re going out on the town, pair it with a two-piece bandeau and pencil skirt set or a long-sleeve silk blouse and a high-waisted metallic skirt. But if you’re aiming for a more relaxed look, pair it with a logo tee and dark colored jeans or a jumpsuit. To top off either look, add close-toed Mary Janes during the day and slip on strappy studded heels after work hours.

Sequin Skirt – If you’re the daring type, like Chanel and Chanel No. 5, this piece is perfect for you. A basic cropped tee, minimal jewelry, and sneakers or booties translate this glittery number into a daytime look. After dark, pair your statement piece with a color coordinated bodysuit tank, statement jewelry, and nude pumps to show off those gams. Also, consider adding leggings to shorter length sequin skirts for a cozy, yet chic style.

Statement Accessories – Chanel doesn’t follow the famous style rule set by the iconic designer she’s named after, “Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off.” Too much bling is never enough in the Scream Queen world. Choose two to three of the following: a statement necklace, chunky belt, rhinestone bracelet, or fur headband. For a daytime dose of sass throw on a pair of nude cat-eyed sunglasses, leather fingerless gloves, a pearl choker, bold stud earrings, or a metal cat ear headband.

Tweed Dress – This sophisticated piece can be as dressy or casual as you’d like. Try a matching cropped blazer, a lengthy pearl necklace, and pumps for a formal look. Or, add a chocker, a thin metallic headband, thigh-high sheer stockings and platform heels for a new take on the versatile classic.

Season 2 is right around the corner and it promises to be “bloodier and funnier” than ever. With new cast members like John Stamos, Taylor Lautner, Colton Hayes, and more, we can’t wait to see what the producers have in store for us on Sept. 20 when it returns to FOX.
