Dallas Brand Neat Pineapple Offers A Fresh Take On Bespoke Handcrafted Goods
Sometimes, it can be challenging to find a perfect gift for the men in our lives. Whether it be for Valentine's Day, Father’s Day, or a birthday, at times it’s nearly impossible to find a gift that’s unique enough for our loved ones. A new Dallas-based company focused on bespoke handcrafted and leather goods just might be the answer to our gift giving prayers.
Neat Pineapple specializes in made to order handcrafted goods, with a focus on leather products, bow ties, and manly gift baskets called Neat Crates. Scott Strittmatter, the artisan behind the Neat Pineapple brand, picked up leather crafting and bow tie making as a hobby around three years ago before officially launching his online storefront on June 24. It first started when Scott discovered his grandmother’s 1950 Singer sewing machine and decided to make bow ties without any prior experience working with fabrics or a sewing machine. That year, Scott focused on perfecting the art of making the bow tie and teaching himself the skills necessary to succeed. Soon after, he stumbled upon a sale at a local leather shop, prompting Scott to purchase a beginner's leather crafting kit too. Now, Scott offers both bow ties and leather goods on his website, all custom made to order right here in Dallas.
“Once I made my first wallet, I never looked back,” said Scott. “I've always wanted to be an entrepreneur, and feel I truly have an opportunity to turn my dream into a reality with my passion for crafting.”
Along with the leather products and bow ties, Neat Pineapple also offers nifty all-in-one gift sets called Neat Crates that allow customers to fill their box with a selection of customizable leather goods and other goodies for the recipient. Scott got the idea for Neat Crates at his wedding when the craft entrepreneur decided to give each of his loyal groomsmen a bowtie and personalized gift box in 2015. Neat Crate options now include products from partner brands, such as cigars, beef jerky, fun socks, salted caramels, and coffee (currently from Oak Cliff Coffee Roasters).
Each leather product is molded out of the finest English Bridle leather from Wickett & Craig, giving customers an option to insert a unique phrase or a word stamped onto it. Scott's classic printed bow ties are made from quality fabrics to stand the test of time. Created for men who have a deep appreciation for style and unique personal products, Scott has since decided to add handcrafted leather koozies and flasks to his offerings.
With Neat Pineapple, Scott wants to break the mold with his new Dallas-based bow tie, leather goods, and crafty gift box company. To peruse what Neat Pineapple and its artisan creator have to offer, Scott's products are available online here.
“My goal is to provide unique and modern products to the Dallas community," Scott told us. "Each of the available options from the outside brands [in the Neat Crates] are items I personally enjoy and feel that men my age do as well. The leather goods available are completely customizable with stamping choices, leather color, hardware finishes, and so on. I feel it’s a fun experience building a Crate on my site because you get to build it out completely how you want it."
