With 7 wildly popular indie art shows in support of Dallas’ handmade movement, Etsy Dallas is once again hosting their free-to-attend 2016 Spring Bash this Saturday, April 30 from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at South Side Events Center at Gilley’s Dallas. Featuring a fantastic bunch of hand-picked artists, designers and crafters selling goods on-site, the event also offers cocktails, food, entertainment and live music. We’re looking forward to stopping by the hip craft party this Saturday! Read on for a few of our fav Pinterest-worthy local shops who will be on-site at the Bash.
The Pig and the Peacock (Dallas, TX)
The Dallas-based beauty line The Pig and the Peacock offers beautiful handmade soaps, lotions, body scrubs, body butter and home fragrances. What started as a passion project creating gift baskets for family and friends quickly turned into a successful Etsy shop that allowed the founders of the shop to express their creative sides after their 9-to-5 day jobs.
Kat French Design (Dallas, TX)
Does anyone else share my greeting card addiction? I collect them everywhere I go and now have one for every occasion. Kat French creates seriously adorable paper goods that speak to life’s special moments. Clever cards, art prints and organizational tools like little notebooks adorn her shop.
Of Earth Jewelry (a ranch near Dallas, TX)
Jewelry Designer Kathy Groppe created the line as a result of her obsession with semi-precious gemstones and frankly, as a way to feed her growing jewel addiction. Drawing inspiration from her travels to coastal California, the Switzerland Alps and Texas’ hill country, Groppe has a deep creative and spiritual connection to nature, the ocean and the Earth.
Expressions Bracelets (Prosper, TX)
If we had to use one word to describe girl boss and designer SaRatta Murphy, it would be inspirational. Since 2012, she’s been creating gorgeous hand stamped jewelry inspired by her autistic niece Storm. Pick a special date or personal mantra and have SaRatta engrave it onto a pretty silver bangle or gold charm necklace.
Whipped Up Wonderful (Dallas, TX)
Dedicated to creating homemade cosmetics and soaps sans the harsh ingredients found in store-bought items, Whipped Up Wonderful is a true believer in using the bath as a stress-relieving escape. Her products are au naturel, affordable, eco-friendly and oh so cute!
Mesa Blue (Dallas, TX)
We’re drooling over these dainty druzy stud earrings and pretty much everything else at Mesa Blue. Each piece is perfect for adding a little bohemian flair to your outfit. By combining textiles, metal, geodes and leather, each piece is handmade and photographed beautifully.
Stop by to shop or stay a while and snap some photos in their Bash photo booth and get boozy during arts and crafts time. The Bash team will give away free collectible Bash Bags for the first 50 shoppers at 10:30 a.m., chock full of handmade goodies. Admission is free and parking is $5 in most area lots.
