Mindful living and focus on general well-being is something that’s important to us at DFW Style Daily. This thoughtful way of thinking has resulted in a “transformative” Fashion Color Report for 2016 and the announcement of not one, but two, colors of the year from Pantone. The color combination as the color of the year is meant to be symbolic of the growing ideas and acceptance towards gender equality.
A balance between warm and cool tones, Rose Quartz and Serenity convey Balance, Calming, Wellness, Compatible, Duality, and Tranquility. The authority on color, Pantone, described the color duo as “a harmonious pairing of inviting shades that embody a mindset of tranquility and inner peace.” The cotton candy hues have been sweeping the runway in the form of SS2016 collections from the greats: Valentino, Armani and Ermanno Scervino.
Leading beauty retailer, Sephora, teamed up with Pantone to bring the “no rules are the new rules” approach to beauty. The Sephora + Pantone Universe line consists of nine total products, including lip shades in the color of 2016 – heavily pigmented shades with a creamy finish, they can be worn separately or in a beautifully bold blend. We know what you’re thinking – despite the dreamy appearance, you’re no quite sure about blue lipstick. Pantone is daring you to try these airy, pastel tones and encouraging beauty fans alike to try something different this spring.
In addition to the lipsticks, the Sephora + Pantone Universe line features a mirrored Modern Watercolors Eye Palette with 24 shades ranging from pretty pastels to fun and bright and a five-piece set of Modern Watercolors lip glosses. Sold out at Sephora North Park Center already, this collection of dreamy beauty finds can be found online for now. Pro tips from Sephora experts and examples on how to wear each new hue can be found online as well.
“Delight in the gentle pink of Rose Quartz; blaze beauty trails with the unexpected blue of Serenity. Wear each color individually or break all the rules and pair them together,” says the beauty retailer on their newest collaboration.
We’re encouraging you to channel your Zen and incorporate the colors of the year, Rose Quartz, and Serenity, into your beauty routine as well!
