The Art of Shopping. NorthPark Center’s motto merely hints at the treasures sprinkled decoratively throughout the 2.5 million square foot space. Over the course of its time, Big D’s top mall has featured acclaimed 20th and 21st Century art collections allowing shoppers to browse among the works of Warhol, Frank Stella, Mark di Suvero, Joel Shapiro, Jim Dine, and Beverly Pepper. In addition to covetable works of art, the elaborate center boasts well over 235 unique retailers, with even more headed down the pipeline soon. In honor of its 50th year anniversary, NorthPark Center will roll out a one-day celebration full of fashion, art, music, and of course shopping to commemorate 50 years of overall excellence. Dying to know what all NorthPark has in store? Read on for more.
We highly advise that you run, don’t walk, to NorthPark as doors will open at 10 a.m. to kick off the milestone celebration. Admire the new “Art Meets Fashion: 1965 – 2015” exhibition, which features 29 looks spanning the last 50 years of fashion as curated by Myra Walker. Swoon over a 1974 Warhol-printed Halston pantsuit, or a one-of-a-kind “bulls-eye” Pierre Cardin mini-dress. From Dior to Todd Oldham plus many more, this current exhibition is one fit for an honorary occasion. Exhibition runs from August 22 – October 25, 2015.
