This fall, Dallas will host the ultimate Parisian-inspired all-white attire party, and if you’re lucky, you may be one of the chosen guests to attend.
Mysteriously scheduled for a date and location uncertain, Diner en Blanc will head to Dallas early this autumn — a noted first for our city since the event’s inception in Paris back in 1988. Garnering much buzz around town, the Parisian-style pop-up picnic will host thousands of local guests at an iconic hotspot – ditching old faux pas, and making it moi tres chic to don all-white from head to toe after Labor Day.
Introduced to Dallas for the first time ever by local hosts Rachael Kissel, Marti Fox, and Karen Raehpour, the event that entertains over 100,000 guests around the world annually, will now touch down to one of the world’s most fashionable cities.
“Diner en Blanc captures the spirit of friendship, glamour, and European elegance,” Kissel says. “We’re excited to bring a little piece of Europe to Dallas and to add Texas flair to Diner en Blanc.” Although guests are responsible for their own portable tables, white chairs, white linens, tableware, and food — it will be the “what to wear” conundrum that promises to be the talk of the town leading up to the event.
This newest addition in Dallas events doesn’t come as a surprise. Given the number of Parisian-inspired events, bistros, and venues added to the scene lately, we’ll just crown 2015 as the year of Parisian influences for the Dallas community. Recently, we celebrated the opening of Parisian salon Camille Albane in Addison, and just last week we bid bon voyage to local fashion designer Venny Etienne as he took to Paris to study the art of couture design.
Through Le Diner en Blanc, Dallas guests will continue to coast French influences by enjoying Parisian-style street performances, local musicians, and various entertainers throughout the evening — with dancing and fireworks to conclude the evening.
Registration for the wait list is now open and the location of the event will remain a secret until the night of the festivities. While an elegant dinner cloaked in mystery tends to spark up more fun, our guess will be (and knowing the Dallas scene as well as we do) that choosing the perfect all-white ensemble will be of prime focus. “To see the event take place with the monochromatic color scheme is really spectacular,” Hostess Raehpour enthuses. “We hope Dallas [has] as much fun preparing for the event as we’ve had planning it!”
