Fashion – it’s definitely what all the cool kids are doing these days. Or that may be the case for a number of Hollywood’s most elite. A new celebrity fashion line hit the scene this week, splashing its way right into summer wardrobes and surprisingly well under the radar. As if running the top of the A-list weren’t enough, Ellen DeGeneres announced her brand’s expansion into the world of fashion, plus much more to expect down the pipeline. From daytime TV to now fashion, read on to peek what has Hollywood all abuzz in the world of lifestyle inspiration this summer.
Earlier this week, Hollywood “it” girl and comedic genius Ellen DeGeneres announced the launch of her lifestyle brand ED by Ellen. Exuding a mirror image of the talk show host herself, the collection boasts everything from apparel to accessories to home goods – all with the effortless flair that is synonymous with the star’s style.
Tees of Peruvian cotton and hand-painted serveware celebrate Ellen’s love for animals, as they sport printed designs of dogs, cats, rabbits, and even goats. While the former attracts a more acquired taste, the ED by Ellen apparel collection channels classy cool with cotton bombers, tailored jackets, structured blazers, and classic trousers – many of the items that we would expect the Hollywood host to wear.
“I just love aesthetic; I love design,” DeGeneres says. “The best designs have a touch of whimsy and should feel relaxed…I want people to be able to express themselves in a very stylish yet comfortable and unique way.” Prompting minimalism at its best, the ED by Ellen collection exudes everything indicative of comfortable chic. From $12 bracelets to $245 blazers, the collection oozes affordability, but most importantly practicality.
Joining the ranks of other celebrity lifestyle gurus Gwyneth Paltrow and Julianne Hough, reports indicate that the ED by Ellen collection won’t remain as an e-commerce line for long. Coming this August to a GAP near you, Ellen fans can shop the celebrity’s style as she partners with GAP Kids to bring the GAP Kids x ED collaboration. But no surprise here – we totally saw that one coming.
