Finesse Your Tress: Come Party With Us Parisian-Style At the Camille Albane Salon June 24

Mark your calendar with a gold star for Wednesday, June 24. DFW Style Daily will team up with the Camille Albane Salon to host a Parisian-themed grand opening fête to welcome the newest, and dare we say très chic addition to Addison’s Restaurant Row.

 

 

Undoubtedly in a league of its own for the utmost in luxurious haircare, the internationally renowned Camille Albane Salon is all the rave in Paris. Commemorating 21 years of business and claiming 300 locations worldwide, the opening of its newest salon in Addison is a first in Texas.

“Dallas is huge on hair and a great market for anything, whether it’s retail, food, or any service,” owner Premila Vishwanath says. “People are willing to try something different and new. The market is booming and there’s a lot of growth and development here, with people from both the East and West coast moving here.”

But why Addison and not Uptown or Park Cities we wondered? Vishwanath credits the enormous visibility of the Beltline strip, and convenient tollway access as key.

 

 

In addition to 1500 square footage of decorated European fixtures, the posh locale boasts creative rights to the coveted balyage technique — a method the salon can’t wait to introduce to the Dallas diva. As noted experts in balyage, educators were flown in from Paris to train the Addison staff on the highly technical hair treatment. Yes, it really is that serious. The innovative highlighting technique ditches the passé foil method, by delicately hand-painting the highlights directly onto the hair.

“This is the true balyage – not the wanna-be balyage,” Vishwanath says. “It’s a really big trend going around right now,” store manager David West adds. “Last year I saw the ombré trend…and now it’s balyage. People are saying the name, they’re familiar with it, but they may not know exactly what it is, so they come here. I’ve had people come in from out of state to get the balyage here, because we do it right.”

 

 

Now that your attention is piqued to all things balyage, head down to the salon on June 24 where the party kicks off at 5 p.m. Following a bonjour here and an apéritif there, slink down into one of the many plush chairs to partake in a French braid or two, and a mini make-up application if you’re adventurous.
