A couple of months ago, we announced the highly anticipated return of CBS Radio’s Design & Dine showcase to be held at the Classic BMW showroom on March 19. Continuing a season of sensational showcases for North Texas fashion talent, CBS Radio Dallas has plans to turn up the heat at this year’s event — spotlighting a new medley of designer talent, with wall to wall food and spirit exhibitions, and the newly added element of a silent auction.
Last year’s inaugural Design & Dine ushered in well over 700 guests to Classic BMW, with this year predicting an even greater gathering of the masses. Continuing in its mash-up of both the food and fashion spectrums, this entertaining fête will combine a creative, craveable menu from top area restaurants and vendors, with a special presentation of the work of five local designers.
As a hint to what’s in store for this year’s event, the unconventional designer showcase will once again be headed by fashion producer Willie Johnson (The Pin Show), opening a window to the world of local fashion. Featured lines at this year’s competition will include Esé Azénabor (pictured below), Melancholic Designs by Jesse Thaxton, NeoBantu (pictured above), Mid-point Eclectic by Devaun Robinson, and Persona Custom Clothiers. To whet the appetite, examples of looks are pictured herein. 2014 Design & Dine winner Shemara Jeyarajah of Shemara Couture will also be in attendance, showcasing new pieces from her designer collection and assisting with the judging of this year’s competition.
KVIL’s own Steve Kemble, a.k.a. America’s Sassiest Lifestyle Guru will lead the evening, with a portion of proceeds slated to benefit Junior League of Collin County. As discussed, a new silent auction element has been added to this year’s extravaganza, inviting participating designers to donate either a piece from their collection to the auction or a gift certificate for a custom creation for the auction winner. 100% of the proceeds from the auction will go to the Junior League of Collin County.
For more information and ticketing (starting at $40), visit our Event Calendar or head to Eventbrite. See you on March 19!
