Though the summer sun still shines here in North Texas, we at DFW Style Daily are looking forward. Today, our F/W 2014 Trending series continues with key fashion trends for the season to come. Take note, and you’ll be ahead of the style curve come fall.

Blue is, quite literally, the coolest color. This tranquil tone washes over numerous collections for Fall 2014, bringing with it a choice for the wearer to express varying moods and motives.

From a color psychology perspective, blue is reliable. It is sincere, devoted, and it inspires higher ideals. In softer shades, as those which glided down countless catwalks this season, it evokes trust and responsibility.

From aquamarine and Wedgewood blue to sedate slate, designers prove this Fall that, indeed, light blue is all grown up. Our pick of the palette? Clean, glacial ice will be the sleeper hit. The flexibility of this wintry shade equals effortless combinations with cousin colors midnight and cobalt, as well as classic black and white. Read on for inspiration across the pale blue spectrum, plus two buy-it-now finds.
