With heavy hearts, today we bid farewell to one of our favorite colleagues on the local fashion beat. After six years at D Magazine, Shopping Editor and Online Managing Editor Raya Ramsey will be leaving her influential post – and our fair city – in the near future.  

When it comes to Dallas fashion, the new and the next are always front of mind. Certain mainstays are constant, however, including the stylish locals who report and support from the front rows, the premier parties, and the opening days. Raya Ramsey is one those dedicated Dallasites. For years, fans have clicked every day to learn which trends the brunette stunner has her eyes trained upon. From SMU co-eds to moms on-the-go, Ramsey’s ShopTalk blog at DMagazine.com became an invaluable resource for wardrobe inspiration - not to mention beauty, fitness, and social calendar inspiration. And the list goes on.  Recently rolled into one with the pub’s StyleSheet photography blog, the combined Fashion landing page continues to support local designers and businesses through regular posts, interviews, and pictorials. We at DFW Style Daily have partnered with ShopTalk on numerous occasions, answering with an enthusiastic “yes” each time we were asked by Ramsey to spill our purse or pick a few must-haves for the season. Friendly and fashionable, working with her was always a joy.  

  The mood was bittersweet when we reached out to Ramsey for an official comment on her departure. Looking forward to the future, but promising frequent returns to Big D, she had this to say:

“Not without a little heartache, I'm leaving D to move with my guy, who's in the military and will have us stationed out of Texas for a little while. I am so grateful to have worked at a publication that demanded I get to know my city on a deeper level. Dallas is a city that gets cooler every day, and I'll miss it when I'm not here. I'll be back to visit often, though, and you can bet I'll be checking in with DFW Style Daily to see what people are up to.”
