Apply Now: Collin Creek, Vista Ridge Malls to Award $20K to Area Schools

The time is now for public and private schools in the Plano, Richardson, Lewisville, and Coppell districts to enroll in a special shopping system that can pay off big. Both Collin Creek Mall and Vista Ridge Mall are currently accepting applications for the 2014-15 A+ Rewards program, which gifts $20,000 in cash to participating schools each year.

 

Established in 2010, A+ Rewards is a community-driven program with the dual goals of building relationships with schools and stimulating local shopping. The program has gifted a grand total of $170,000 through Vista Ridge and Collin Creek malls since inception. Schools need only apply through the Mall Management offices, and sign pledges committing to honesty and accountability. Shopping then nets points, which translate to cash awards in three different ways:

• A+ Honor Roll: Schools earning as few as 100 total points in a six-week grading period will be entered in a random drawing for $1,000 cash. A $1,000 prize will be awarded to a qualifying school during the first five grading periods.
• End-of-Year Awards: Schools also compete with each other for the highest accumulation of points during the 2014-15 school year to earn a share of the remaining $15,000 cash reward. The three schools with the most points will split the $15,000 cash, including $7,500 for first place; $5,000 for second place; and $2,500 for third place.
• Spirit Night: Vista Ridge Mall will host a special spirit night in December, and the A+ School demonstrating the most spirit will receive $500.
