Earlier this week, we filled you in on the heartbreaking twist of fate which eliminated Dallas designer Emmanuel Tobias from Project Runway Season 13 before it began.

We at DFW Style Daily have followed Emmanuel Tobias for years, first making his acquaintance as a promising new graduate of the University of North Texas in 2011. In the same year, his dramatic creations made a splash at the Scion Driving Fashion Show for young designers in Plano.

Never losing sight of his dream to make it in the fashion world, Emmanuel, now 29, surprised many by appearing on Project Runway’s Season 13 Road To The Runway special last Thursday, July 24. No sooner had his reality TV adventure started, however, than an unexpected round of eliminations at the start of the season premier sent him packing.

Genuinely kind and optimistic, Emmanuel took the setback in stride. “I tried my best, but unfortunately, it didn’t happen for me,” he concluded in his final interview. “All I can do is just move forward.”

And move forward, he has. Brand new this week, Emmanuel Tobias’ Emancandy equals a fun and fully functional e-commerce site specializing in handmade bowties. The line pops with colors and prints in both vintage and novelty fabrics. Styles like Tania’s Bloom, Professor Cony, and Daniel’s Web are named for special folks in Emmanuel’s life.

“Bowties are always a fun accessory to own, and they truly elevate a man’s wardrobe,” explains the designer, often bowtie-clad himself. “I wanted to create neckwear that showcased individuality, with accessible price points for the online customer.”

All Emancandy products (select styles pictured above) are handcrafted in Dallas, Texas. Prices range from $39 – $75. To shop, explore, and learn more, visit Emancandy.com.
