Dallas Blogger Lauren Scruggs Engaged to E! News Co-Host Jason Kennedy

Wedding bells and a presumably fashion-filled affair are in order for local blogger Lauren Scruggs. The 25-year-old Lolomag.com author became engaged to E! News correspondent Jason Kennedy on May 30, and was completely surprised when her beau of almost a year popped the question in Dallas in front of her close family and friends.     As for the big “ask,” Kennedy’s social media accounts reveal that he duped the blogger beauty into thinking that he was en route to New York City on the big day, instead of Big D. He later revealed post-engagement via Instagram, “Truth is I never flew to New York, I flew to Dallas and asked her if she would spend the rest of her life with me. I love you Lauren Scruggs.” It’s just another chapter fulfilled in the inspiring life of Scruggs, who survived a tragic jet propeller accident in December 2011. Grabbing national headlines, Scruggs’ injuries resulted in the removal of her left eye and a prosthetic arm. She rebounded gracefully, authoring the book Still Lolo in 2013, and rising up the ranks as one of Dallas’ most prominent and charitable fashion bloggers.     Giddy with the news of Scruggs’ upcoming nuptials, we decided to get ahead of the curve by reaching out to Vatana Watters, CEO and Founder of Watters Bridal. She offers insight into what type of dress the blonde fashion plate should don on her special day. “Lauren is the definition of elegance,” Watters says. “When it comes to her wedding dress, there are two types of weddings that come to mind: a traditional yet glamorous Dallas wedding, or an over-the-top Hollywood wedding. For the traditional wedding, we have the Watters Maddalena gown, an off-white Lalique lace, strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline and full a-line skirt.”     “For something gently curve-skimming (not skin tight), the perfect dress would be the Watters Cinzia gown, a v-neck and dramatic v-back illusion netting gown, with hand beaded lace over silk charmeuse lining,” the Dallas designer continues. “And, of course, there’s always the option of a custom wedding dress.” While there are many more details to delve into as this joyous fête approaches, we’ll let the newly engaged couple bask in their engagement bliss for now. Best wishes to Lauren and Jason from all of us at DFW Style Daily.   Images via Instagram and Watters.com.
