“No matter what you’re going through, you can get through it.” – Anita Blackstone
Dress For Success is an international, not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting the economic independence of disadvantaged women. We at DFW Style Daily have worked closely with
Dress For Success Dallas on several occasions over the years, and when the time came to launch a new video program, we decided to
pay it forward.
The resulting video series, Meaningful Makeovers, is a passion project months in the making. In partnership with
Blaine’s Dallas Salon,
Last Call Studio by Neiman Marcus, and our presenting sponsor,
Amazing Lash Studio Dallas, the Meaningful Makeover journey features two local Dress For Success Dallas clients.
In Part One below, we’ll meet Anita Blackstone, learn of her challenges and triumphs, and make her over in true
DFW Style Daily fashion.

With great thanks to our partners in the Meaningful Makeover journey, we encourage our readers to support these local businesses:
Amazing Lash Studio locations in the Metroplex include East Dallas (5427 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75206), Fort Worth’s Alliance Town Center (3110 Texas Sage Trail, Fort Worth, TX 76177), and Fort Worth’s West 7th Shopping Center (2949 West 7th Street, Fort Worth, TX 76107). Eyelash extensions from Amazing Lash Studio can trim precious minutes off a morning routine. They create a longer, fuller, and darker appearance for your lashes, compared with popular brands of mascaras.
Blaine’s Dallas Salon (3227 McKinney Avenue, #103, Dallas, TX 75204) is a full-service hair salon specializing in cut, color, and styling. A Dallas institution, founder Blaine Schlaudt has trained and worked around the world to perfect his unique blend of technical expertise and artistic flair. In addition to a signature product line, Blaine’s Dallas Salon offers a wide range of beauty services and make-up artistry.
Last Call Studio by Neiman Marcus boasts an unmatched selection of designer brands for both women and men. Shoes, accessories, jewelry, and more, are also in store, at fabulous discounted prices.
