Gearing up for this weekend’s Dallas Vintage Clothing & Jewelry Show, our minds dance with visions of fabulous frocks and gems spanning fashion’s most glamorous decades.  

  Returning March 21 – 23 to the Addison Conference & Theatre Centre, the Dallas Vintage Clothing & Jewelry Show will feature dozens of vendors offering vintage clothing, fine and costume jewelry, and much more. Adding an entertaining and educational element, Dallas’ own Dawn Mellon the Savvy Stylist (pictured below), will speak on Sunday, March 23, at 1:00 p.m.  

  Her celebrity client list includes Pat and Emmitt Smith and Amy Vanderoef, and Mellon herself is a DFW Style Daily – Galleria Dallas Best Dressed honoree. We’ve spotted her work on The Today Show, The Wendy Williams Show, and Entertainment Tonight, as well as in local glossies FDLuxe and PaperCity. With this wealth of stylish knowledge upon which to draw, Mellon will present  ‘Fifty Years of Fabulous Fashion’ at the Dallas Vintage Clothing & Jewelry Show. “I've always been intrigued with vintage pieces,” Mellon explains, looking ahead to this weekend’s speaking engagement. “From a young age, I coveted the pieces - clothes, jewelry, and accessories – that my mother, grandmothers, and aunts handed down to me. Each item has a story, and for me, that's exciting and intriguing. It’s something you certainly can't find when you buy a new item.”  

  On the subject of history, Mellon will explore fashion from the 1920’s through the 1960’s in her special presentation this coming Sunday. Her commentary will inform and inspire, as she highlights key details and designers through the decades. Best of all, she’ll feature an expertly styled look from Dallas Vintage Clothing & Jewelry Show vendors to illustrate each fashionable era.   The Dallas Vintage Clothing & Jewelry Show takes place Friday, March 21, Saturday, March 22 and Sunday, March 23 at the Addison Conference & Theatre Centre at 15650 Addison Road. Friday’s Preview Reception, including early buying, benefits Children at Risk ($25 admission advance, $30 at door). Thereafter, regular admission on Saturday and Sunday is just $10.
