Antiques Roadshow’s Steven Porterfield To Bring Wearable Treasures to the Dallas Vintage Clothing & Jewelry Show
|
By now, all of our calendars are marked with a gold star for the upcoming Dallas Vintage Clothing & Jewelry Show. Returning March 21 – 23 to the Addison Conference & Theatre Centre, the shoppers’ paradise will feature dozens of vendors from across the country offering vintage clothing, fine and costume jewelry, accessories, and more.
Among the tempting lot, Antiques Roadshow’s own Steven Porterfield will host a booth-full of designer finds. Bold face names will be up for grabs, spanning some one hundred years of fashion. Here’s the scoop:
“The energy that the producers of the Dallas Vintage Clothing & Jewelry Show create is contagious,” says Steven Porterfield. “It is a pleasure to work with the entire team.”
Known for his educated eye for antique and vintage fashion and jewelry, Porterfield appears as an expert appraiser on the compulsively watchable Antiques Roadshow. When he’s not traveling the country for PBS, Porterfield can be found in his home base of Midland at The Cat’s Meow. Boasting thousands of finds throughout 4,500 square feet, Porterfield’s store is a vintage-lover’s dream.
And that’s not the half of it. Porterfield is also a sought-after speaker on the subject of fashion history, and the curator of numerous museum exhibits. In other words, he knows his stuff but good, and he’ll be bring the goods to Dallas in short order.
Chanel, Thierry Mugler, Valentino, Bill Blass, and Oscar de la Renta are but a few of the designers Porterfield hints will highlight his booth at the Dallas Vintage Clothing & Jewelry Show.
In addition, vintage Judith Leiber bags and brand-new Italian made shoes from the 1970’s will round out the accessories side. A quick peek at Porterfield’s current collection is featured herein, and many finds are spot-on for spring (we’ll fight you for those Chanel pumps).

Friday’s Preview Reception, including early buying, benefits Children at Risk ($25 admission advance, $30 at door). Thereafter, regular admission on Saturday and Sunday is just $10.
