On Thursday, February 20, a chic and caring crowd gathered at Aria Stone Gallery in the Design District to fête Light The Runway 2014, benefiting Dress For Success Dallas.     Gearing up for year number three, Light The Runway will welcome notable local fathers and daughters to model looks by top Dallas retailers in a night of fashion and philanthropy. This year’s show will take place May 15, and last week’s kick-off was but a taste of the fun to come.     As guests enjoyed sips and bites by Deep Eddy Vodka, Bone Daddy's House of Smoke, Tart Bakery, and Frosted Art, some $1,000 was raised through the raffle of a gorgeous handmade earring and necklace set by designer Shona Gilbert. Event Chair Janet Fresquez then took the floor, thanking all for their support of Dress For Success Dallas’ mission to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women. Fresquez, a Dallas-based philanthropist, financial advisor, and writer, emphasized Light the Runway’s focus on the positive impact men can have in the lives of their daughters. She also revealed the identity of the upcoming event’s famous host, Scott Murray, as well as its unique theme, “Garden Party Rocks!”     This year’s Light The Runway model duos will include football star Ryan Neufeld and his young daughter Bryn, Stubbs Davis and daughter Landry, Vaughn and Gig Miller, and Rick and Rachel Fresquez, among many others. The endearing pairs will model looks by retailers such as L. Bartlett and Nicole Kwon for the ladies, as well as Rye 51 and Brooks Brothers for the guys, in a production by Harriet Kelly Gibbe. Many models-to-be and their lovely wives mixed and mingled at Aria, looking forward to their runway debuts.     Consider this kick-off a very stylish indicator, indeed, of a fabulous evening to come at Dress For Success Dallas’ 3rd Annual Light The Runway.
