Texas Designer Heather Henry Lands Henri Bendel For 2014

Our lust affair with Heather Henry Designs began in the summer of 2012. During a visit to Malouf’s in Southlake Town Square, we fell hard for tempting gems exhibiting a unique flair for the organic. Today, we’ll revisit the Texas-born artist’s successes and new offerings to date, plus exciting developments to come in 2014.

Since our last story, Heather Henry has refined her direction in creative design to encompass fine jewelry of precious and semi-precious stones set in yellow gold, rose gold, and sterling silver. Working with expert artisans commissioned by the finest luxury houses to develop her molds, her newest collection has exceeded levels of inspiration in raw elegance. Each piece is born from her sketchpad, wherein she creates glorious settings with unusual etched edgings.

Adding to her range, Henry also launched signature handbags and clutches last year. The mixed-media creations turn heads with sculpted faceted stones, colored leathers, gunmetal zipper pulls, and statement-making hardware. A near-instant success, her Bizzy Minaudières and Susan Totes (pictured below) will soon be carried at the famed Henri Bendel on 5th Avenue in New York City. This top-tier retailer will join a growing list of Heather Henry Designs stockists, including Malouf’s in both Southlake and Lubbock, the Worrell Gallery in Santa Fe, and Dallas’ own Stanley Korshak.

And what fuels the ever-expanding creativity of this rising design star? Her muses include the humble 'Team Henry' of family and friends. They stand behind her, offering feedback and inspiration through their casual conversation, personalities, and styles. As new techniques are discovered, they source new manufacturers and their 'on-foot' mentality gets the job done as a team.

Says the designer of her home state support system, “People always ask if we are going to move to New York or a larger city, but honestly, I would not have been able to accomplish this dream without the support I have from everyone in Texas." As excitement builds, 2014 looks bright for Heather Henry. Careful planning and slow growth are key, while inside her head, dozens of new ideas spark creative designs just waiting to come to fruition. As she plans trunk shows and personal appearances for the coming year, we’ll keep an eye on the irresistible items featured on her website. Most of all, we’ll root for the continuing success of ‘Team Henry.’     All images, courtesy Heather Henry Designs.
