Hot on the heels of its tenth anniversary bash last month, Dallas boutique Krimson & Klover picks up national steam with a new, noteworthy award.  

  One of the oldest independent clothing boutiques in the city, Krimson & Klover draws a stylish crowd to a converted Victorian home in the Uptown neighborhood. There, owner Lindsey Harrison (below, second from right) stocks affordable, on-trend women’s clothing and accessories from labels both stateside and international. Complimenting her brick-and-mortar with a full online store and robust social media presence, Harrison also has plans for a second location in 2014. These efforts have earned the store a loyal local following, and news comes this week of a major award that will soon shine an even brighter spotlight. In honor of Small Business Saturday, Krimson & Klover has been named American Express’ Small Business of the Year.  

  “It was pretty crazy,” Harrison explains of her reaction to the news. “A photographer came down from New York to take pictures of the store and myself. There has been a lot going on!” Those photos will be featured on the American Express website and social media sites in support of the company’s upcoming local shopping initiative. Taking place November 30, Small Business Saturday encourages shoppers to support independent retailers and service providers. Indeed, Krimson & Klover defines the term neighborhood gem.  

  Hardly content to rest on their laurels, Harrison and company plan to celebrate their sweet success by paying it forward. Nominations are now being accepted for Krimson & Klover’s annual holiday giving project. One area family in need will be selected, their holiday wishes met by the boutique and additional community partners.
