For those with a lust for luxury – and a bit of a competitive streak – two upcoming auctions in the Dallas Design District are sure to quicken the pulse.
First up, covetable jewels and watches by Tiffany & Co., Van Cleef & Arpels, Rolex, and more, will go to high bidders at the Dallas Auction Gallery’s Fine Jewelry and Timepieces Auction on Wednesday, November 20. The glittering group, via the estate of a Texas collector, comprises some 100-plus items. Many come complete with original tags and packaging.
Following the aforementioned dazzling display, the DAG will then present Vintage Couture and Luxury Goods on Thursday, November 21. Again studded with star designer labels, this second auction includes apparel, furs, and handbags from Chanel, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, and Judith Leiber. And that’s not even the half of it.
“I literally feel like a kid in a candy store,” enthuses DAG interim Marketing Director Connie Campbell. “There are over 300 lots in the vintage couture sale alone.” Not to mention, this insider also assures us there are plenty of bargains to be had in the bunch.
Examples from both upcoming auctions are pictured herein, courtesy of the DAG. Each evening kicks off with a preview period at 5 p.m., followed by the main event at 6 p.m. A convivial atmosphere is cultivated by the gallery, and both new and novice buyers are welcome. Finally, for those with overflowing schedules, phone and absentee bidding, as well as previews in advance of auction dates, can be accommodated.
