Returning to the Dallas World Trade Center on Saturday, November 23, the Designers Choice Fashion Preview always packs the house. Hundreds gather each year for the high-energy show, featuring celebrity hosts and highlighting area independent designers in an upbeat, decidedly unstuffy production.
Project Runway alum Korto Momolu will reprise her hosting role in 2013, joined by Designers Choice Fashion Preview first-time co-host Amy Vanderoef of Good Morning Texas (pictured above). The glamorous duo will present over a dozen regional designers, among them DFW Style Daily favorites Chelsea Stumo of RubyBritt and newcomer Charles Smith, II. Also adding a new twist to the annual event, live auctions will be incorporated into the production itself.
Multiple featured designers have donated one-of-a-kind garments on behalf of the initiative. With starting bids ranging from under $100 steals to gowns valued at $600-plus, auctions will take place throughout the show at regular intervals. All proceeds will benefit the Timmons Arts Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to continuing visual arts and music programs in public school systems.
Featured herein are just a few of the fabulous looks that will head home with high bidders come November 23. They include a stunning black mermaid evening gown by Lyza Faye, an asymmetrical pleated number from RubyBritt, a draped and belted mini by Charlotte Quaco, and Venny Etienne’s ultramodern white shift. We predict spirited battles for all.
