DFW Style Daily: How would you describe your personal style?
“My style is a genre that has yet to be found, combining experimental, whimsical, film noir, and Egyptofunk.”
Name a person who helped to shape your personal style.
“I like to reference photos of my mom from the 1980’s, as well as photos of Sharmila Tagore in the 1960’s. I admire the ‘anything goes’ mentality from those decades.”
Do you have any items of clothing or accessories passed down from previous generations?
“I inherited my father’s Yves Saint Laurent corduroy blazer from the 1980’s, and it’s one of my fall staples.”
Let’s head back in time for a moment. Do you remember a favorite first day of school outfit?
“My first day of middle school, I wore the cutest khaki overalls. I remember them because they were stolen out of my gym locker that day.”
What was the first item of clothing you remember purchasing for yourself?
“I purchased a hideous oatmeal jacket lined with fake shearling fur.”
What item in your closet do you reach for time and again?
“A pair of black, high-waisted jeans from Acne. They go with everything.”
Do you follow any hard-and-fast wardrobe rules?
“My rule is to not have rules. My closet isn’t a boot camp.”
How did you feel when you learned you had been named one of Galleria Dallas and DFW Style Daily’s Best Dressed 2013?
“I was very excited and happy.”
What aspect of this program is most significant to you?
“I’m honored to be involved with this program because the proceeds will go to two good causes.”
