  DFW Style Daily: How would you describe your personal style? Barbara Daseke: “My signature style is edgy and sophisticated, and I’m always open to try new and unusual fashion twists.” Name a person who helped to shape your style perspective. “My mother was my influence. She had great style, and communicated that to me throughout my entire life.” Do you have any wardrobe items passed down from previous generations? If so, why are they meaningful to you? “I have many of my mother’s signature pieces – jackets, timeless coats – and they are great matched with current pieces.”  

  What was the first item of clothing you remember purchasing for yourself? “I remember pining for a red wool dress I had seen in a store when I was an early teen. I had to earn the money to buy it. I did, and I loved it!” What item in your closet do you reach for time and again? “I reach for a pair of cropped pants by Dolce & Gabbana that go with everything. Also, I have several colorful jackets to change things up.”  

  How did you feel when you learned you had been named one of Galleria Dallas and DFW Style Daily’s Best Dressed 2013?  “When I received the call, I was overwhelmed. I just thought, Wow, how cool will this be? It is such an honor.” What aspect of this program is most significant to you? “It’s significant for me because of Yvonne Crum’s involvement. We have been such good friends over the years. I think the world of her, and all she does. I think so much of Benny Black, as well.”
