Today, as exciting gala details continue to unfold, we have additional intel on two big name Night of Stars honorees. First, American women’s wear designer Kay Unger (below, left) will receive this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Counting First Ladies and Hollywood stars among her loyal clients, Unger’s career spans 40 years and multiple successful companies. She also serves on the Parsons Board of Governors, and is a dedicated supporter of and fundraiser for cancer care and research. Set to receive this year’s Career Achievement in Fashion Award is designer Billy Reid (above, right). From his home base in Florence, Alabama, Reid helms a group of seven national retail stores offering classic apparel and accessories for men and women. Reid is a past CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner, and his Highland Park Village outpost is a favorite among discerning Dallas shoppers. “Billy Reid and Kay Unger are well-respected and inspiring designers in the fashion industry,” said Chuck Steelman, the FGI Dallas regional director elect. “Their tireless work and contributions to the fashion industry make them the ideal recipients for this year’s awards.” Both honorees will be present at the November 15th gala. Awards will also be bestowed upon local luminaries in design, retail, and media, plus an extraordinary silent auction and runway show are not to be missed. Taking place Friday, November 15th at the Grand Pavilion at the Dallas Trade Mart, Fashion Group International of Dallas’ annual Fashion & Lifestyle Awards Night of Stars Gala is a can’t-miss event for area fashion fans and industry insiders. Earlier this summer, we revealed the names of this year’s philanthropic Fashion Police.
