The Lifetime network’s latest reality show combines many themes currently booming in the voyeuristic genre. Not only will millionaires feature prominently in the new program, but fashion and demanding doyennes will play a part as well. Announced over the weekend by Cynthia Smoot of Oh So Cynthia, Million Dollar Shoppers will premier Thursday, October 10th. The limited-run series will follow along as personal shoppers attempt to dazzle couture-loving clients in order to cash in on big commissions. Sounds interesting enough, but in a world overflowing with similar shows, what could possibly earn this upstart a slot in our overflowing DVR’s? The answer may lie in a local tie-in.
According to Smoot, Dallasites Gregg Asher and Tayler Carson Sandvick (above, left) will be among the professional retail enthusiasts featured on Million Dollar Shoppers. “The pair met at the Christian Dior grand opening party and instantly clicked,” Smoot wrote of the soon-to-be stars. “People often think they are siblings because they fight like brother and sister.”
Asher, a hair stylist and blogger, is known to many in local fashion circles for his eccentric, label-heavy wardrobe. In a recent post on his online diary, he explores a tree house in sandals by Maison Martin Margiela and Prada shades, while toting a Mulberry bag (above, right). No stranger to on-camera hijinks, reality fans may recall Asher’s cameo in the now-defunct Most Eligible Dallas.
