We have long admired Ashley Pittman, not only for her chic, collectible jewelry designs, but for the heartfelt mission of her company.
Motivated by her work as a volunteer for the Clinton Foundation HIV/Aids Initiative in Rwanda in 2006, native Texan Pittman (pictured above) envisioned a line that would showcase classic African shapes and materials while giving back to communities in need. Through the Ashley Pittman Collection and the Ashley Pittman Foundation, both goals are accomplished in style.
Pittman’s statement rings, necklaces, earrings, and signature bangles are handcrafted of horn, gemstones, and bronze indigenous to East Africa. From each sale, 10% of profits help fund a rural health center and primary school in Kenya. For the coming season of giving, we can think of few better gifts for the fashionable and philanthropic on your list.
Retailing for $195 – $995 in stores such as Neiman Marcus and Stanley Korshak, Ashley Pittman jewelry will be offered for up to 75% off at an upcoming special event in Dallas. Beginning this Friday, September 20th and continuing through Sunday, September 22nd, the sale will take place at 150 Turtle Creek Boulevard, #107, in the Design District (10 a.m. – 6 p.m. each day). Samples, past season merchandise, and discontinued styles will be offered.
