A sure sign that back-to-school season is upon us, Texas’ annual
Sales Tax Holiday takes place this coming Friday, August 9th through Sunday, August 11th. The three-day tax break applies to most clothing, backpacks, school supplies, and footwear priced under $100. It also means area malls and big box stores will be packed to the rafters.
A fair amount of fine print is involved in the tax-free deal, so we highly recommend a visit to the
Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts website before you shop. For example, the term “backpack” does include some rolling bags, but gym and duffle bags do not make the cut.

For those brave enough to venture out in search of bargains,
Stonebriar Centre could be a good bet. The Frisco mall will celebrate Teen Vogue Magazine’s ‘Back-to-School Saturday’ on August 10th with music, photo booths, fall fashion modeling, and gift card bonuses on purchases of $100 or more.
