Ladies, Our Cups (Apparently) Runneth Over

According to Racked New York – no pun intended –the average American bra size is growing at an “exponential” rate. Citing stats compiled by Intimacy, the pub reported Monday that our median cup size has blossomed from a 34B to a voluptuous 34DD over the past 30 years. Additional retailers including Fig Leaves and Cosabella report similar expanding dimensions.

To what do we owe this underwire overflow?

Better consumer understanding of bra sizing my be a bigger contributor than actual changing body types, the article explains. A greater number of cup size options in luxury and designer lingerie also play a part. For our part, we wonder, could more common and affordable augmentation options be another factor?
