Aw, shucks. Just when landing kiester over tea kettle on an ice cold skating rink doesn’t sound half bad – the high temperature today is 90˚ – one of the area’s largest is soon to close.
Stonebriar Centre (pictured below) announced this week the impending closure of The Ice. The Frisco shopping center’s NHL-sized rink is the biggest in any Dallas-area mall, but skating will cease on Wednesday, July 31st. The lower level space near Sears will be redeveloped.
Should you decide to take one last, cool spin on The Ice, several recent Stonebriar additions could be worth a visit, too. New restaurant Wasabi serves sushi via conveyor belt, and women’s clothing retailer Altar’d State is a first for Texas.
Moving forward, we always recommend Galleria Dallas for a great ice skating fix.
