Hear that? Those clicks and rustlings could be the sound of hundreds of Dallas-area phones, laptops, and datebooks readying to mark the upcoming 5th Annual Fashion For A Passion event. The gold star goes on October 12th, 2013, at The Dallas Contemporary.     Building steam – and audience – with each passing year, Against The Grain’s Fashion For A Passion is now one of the most highly-anticipated local style events each fall. A leader in representing, promoting, and providing educational opportunities for the Asian American community, Against The Grain (ATG) is a Dallas-based non-profit group. Every dollar raised by ATG funds outreach programs and scholarships, or goes to assisting orphanages in Asia. Fashion For A Passion is an all-volunteer effort, showcasing both emerging and established local designers.

  Said Tammy Nguyen Lee, ATG President and Founder, “Each year, Fashion for a Passion is painstakingly planned down to the finest details in an effort to create a quality platform that promotes a new generation of young and exciting Asian American artists, and to bring the community together. This year promises to deliver yet another memorable evening. We can’t wait to share this talent with the audience and raise money and awareness for ATG’s orphanages, scholarship funds, and outreach programs.”     Actress and model LeeAnne Locken will again serve as emcee at Fashion For A Passion 2013, together with CBS 11 reporter Elizabeth Dinh. This year’s Presenting Designers will include Nikki Duong Koenig (Cykochik Custom Handbags), Vera Wang (Viviona), Kim Pham (FGI Dallas Career Day Winner), Becky Hollands, Danh Ta, Cac Lam (Cac Demode), Lucy Dang (Texas Next Top Designer & Belk Southern Designer Showcase Winner), and Jerry Matthews (Nine Muses).
