Few events are anticipated by North Texas shoppers quite like Partners Card time. The annual program equals a Metroplex-wide shop-a-thon at more than 750 participating retailers. And it’s all for a wonderful cause.
Since launching in 1992, Partners Cards have raised some $13 million dollars for The Family Place. Available online and throughout the city for a mere $70, they add up to a 20% discount for a 10-day period at just about everywhere you’d want to shop in Dallas and surrounding cities. The savings also apply at restaurants, spas, and more.
So much more than a substantial boost for local businesses (though participants all report sales “well above normal” during Partners Card time), proceeds benefit Dallas’ largest domestic violence agency. Through The Family Place, the purchase of just one Partners Card will supply diapers for an infant for one week. Two Partners Cards fund a night of shelter to a woman and her child. To date, the agency has sheltered more than 17,000 woman and children, and has answered more than 440,000 calls for help.
Talk about paying it forward.
