Dallas Blogger Has It Made In The Shade(s)

In celebration of summer love, DFW Style Daily’s Obsession Confession reveals the French affair that led to a serious accessory addiction for a budding local curator of style.   An SMU student by day and fashion blogger by night, Alex Small dishes about her favorite new trends and products via Small 4 Style. She also gives fans a personal perspective through her column, Project Emilie. This up-and-comer, who’s currently honing her sartorial skills as an intern for Nordstrom at Galleria Dallas, confesses her flair for Parisian fare today.     The Obsession: Falling for Chanel’s considerable charms, Small can’t get enough of a special pair of shades from the label’s shop in central Paris.   The Confession: “These sunglasses represent how much of a fashion nerd I am,” the blogger teased. “I got to walk on Coco’s turf, and brought back to Dallas a pair of classic Chanels.”           The Rationalization: A moving sight led to this fashionable fixation. Small explained, “When I visited the Chanel boutique on Rue Cambon, I spotted Coco Chanel’s mirrored staircase. Overcome with such intense emotions, I started weeping. I could almost feel her presence!”         The Collection: Commenting on her fledgling French collection, Small noted, “They will always be my top fashion obsession because they were my first Chanel purchase - and I bought them with my own money.”     Shop It: Find similar shades locally at Peeper’s in Highland Park Village. And if the designer’s pricey sunnies don’t fit your budget –Chanel’s 2013 styles pictured above retail from $350 – we recommend shopping the boutique’s less expensive brands like Tory Burch (from $150, left).           Headshot courtesy of Alex Small; Chanel images via FashionSalade.com; Additional images credit Couture.Zappos.com and WheredTheyGetThat.Blogspot.com.
