Dallas Children’s Theater Seeks Pint-Sized Designers
The Dallas Children’s Theater invites kids and teens, from kindergarten through grade 12, to accessorize its upcoming 30th Anniversary season.
Featuring the captivating creations of Emmy-nominated costume designer Lyle Huchton, the DCT will soon stage a series of commemorative shows. Kicking off in September with The Cat in the Hat, the first production is right on-theme for a Hats Off Design Contest to accompany the milestone year.
Whether a topper for the Cat, a screaming banshee’s chapeau, or a Civil War bonnet, budding young designers may draw their inspiration from any upcoming play (or all of them). Once imaginations are fueled, paper, crayons, glitter, magazine clippings, and more are fair game for their original hat creations. Contest entries will be accepted through July 15th, and all will be displayed in the DCT's lobby for the entire season.
Icing the cake, several Grand Prize Winners will see their hat design come to life on the stage. Click here for complete contest information and registration form.
Congratulations to the Dallas Children’s Theater from all of us at DFW Style Daily!
