Our summer camp memories are limited to itchy, OFF!-drenched nature walks and ill-fated hornet encounters, but times have changed. Perfect for teens and adults more interested in fashion than foliage, the following Dallas camps actually sound fun.
Now enrolling, design-focused summer camps and classes at Oak Cliff’s IndieGenius and Make + Made are open to kids, teens, and adults. And there’s not an insect or sing-a-long in sight.
Young campers age 7- 16 can choose from programs like Bags & Accessories, Fashion Design, and Sew Much Fun. Various sessions run from June through August. For adults, Project Make also starts in August, a six-week series on sewing and design. One-day classes are available as well, resulting in a nifty dress for the ladies or a shirt for the guys (shown below).
Where were these options when we were traipsing through East Texas with a canteen strapped to our back? Anyway, follow the links above or visit MakeItIndieGenius.com for more information. IndieGenius and Make + Made are located at 409 N. Zang Boulevard in Dallas.
