In January, we shared the exciting news of Karl Lagerfeld’s plans to stage
Chanel’s next Metiers d’Art show here in Dallas. Via
British Vogue came the announcement, following the designer’s interview with Bridget Foley at the WWD Apparel & Retail CEO Summit in New York.

Now, good Southern gals like us know that patience is a virtue. That hasn’t stopped us, however, from staying
right on top of communications with the iconic design house. …Plus, we’ll take just about any excuse to run a picture of Karl and
Choupette (
above).
Today, though, according to Georgina Butler, Assistant Fashion P.R. Representative for Ready-to-Wear and Haute Couture, there are no new developments to report. Specifically, a location has not yet been set for the Dallas production.
Sigh. But, no news is good news, in our book. Chanel’s Metiers d’Art productions are hallmarked by their grand scale. In December 2012, the show took place at a breathtaking Scottish palace, complete with bag pipers and a lavish dinner overlooking a loch. These things take time.
We’ll keep pestering – er,
checking back – with
Chanel in weeks to come. Stay tuned for additional updates.
