DFW Style Daily Congratulates FGI Dallas Career Day Winners

The largest and longest running fashion career event of its kind in the nation, Fashion Group International’s 45th Annual Dallas Career Day took place on Friday, April 12th, at the Dallas World Trade Center. Hundreds of students and faculty from more than 40 national colleges and universities gathered for the occasion. The high-energy event included a full schedule of expert speakers, panel discussions, and seminars, culminating in a grand fashion show produced by Rhonda Sargent Chambers’ RSC Show Productions.     For the second year running, DFW Style Daily was proud to participate in Dallas Career Day, and we’d like to take a moment today to congratulate both scholarship winners and student designer standouts. Career Day awards more than $45,000 in scholarships in the areas of design and merchandising each year. For 2013, honorees included:

Paris American Academy Scholarship:  Kim Pham, University of North Texas

FGI Dallas President's Award: Nicolas ChampRoux, Houston Community College

Musselman Fashion Design Award: Holly Hmielewski, Stephens College (center)

In addition to these bright and stylish scholarship winners, the following local student designs caught our eye on the runway. We predict these names will be generating buzz in years to come:     Design by Yan Xia, El Centro College                       Design by Abi Tatum, University of North Texas                       Design by Jennifer Doolin, El Centro College                       Design by Thong T. Nguyen, Texas Tech University                     Congratulations to all who participated in Fashion Group International of Dallas’ 45th Annual Career Day!
