We here at DFW Style Daily were the first to feature talented jewelry designer
Shona Gilbert back in October of 2011, and she holds a special,
stylish place in our hearts.

These days, she is busy touring and selling, both locally and across the country. Last Sunday, we caught up with Shona (
pictured top right) at a special trunk show event at newbie
Snider Plaza vintage boutique
Commonwealth Couture. The seven-month-old shop offers all things divine, so Shona’s statement jewels fit right in. It was a dangerous place to be on a Sunday afternoon while sipping wine, indeed.

The designer sirens were calling as we drooled over finds including a vintage Givenchy fur, an embellished Valentino gown, and an original leopard-print DVF wrap dress.

The palette was exquisite to showcase a preview of Shona’s Summer 2013 Collection, including new additions to her
Edha, Ayanna, St. Germain, and Pebbles lines. Utilizing rare vintage materials and precious and semiprecious stones, they were the ideal match for Commonwealth’s own collection.

As shop owners Lynda Piepgras and Michell Sosnoskie looked on,
Oh So Cynthia’s Cynthia Smoot (
pictured top left) assisted shoppers in finding that perfect frock and gems to match. Friends relaxed as we all watched guests model their vintage finds.
Want to get up close and personal with these fabulous Dallas-made jewels yourself? Shona’s next trunk show appearance will take place on Friday, May 10th at Neiman Marcus Downtown Dallas. Visit our
Event Calendar for details.
